Beechers, Stubbs win couples tourney

KK and Jesse Beecher and Babette and John Stubbs were named the winners of the Canyon Lake Couple’s Eclectic Golf Championship last week at the Canyon Lake Golf Course. KK and Jesse were the couple with the overall low gross score in the two-day tournament and Babette and John were the couple with the overall low net score.

The Eclectic Tournament has an interesting format where there are four opportunities for a low score on each of 18 holes. Each player played his or her own ball, with each couple recording the best ball for each hole over both days.

There was a three-way tie for Net Champion, so the winner was decided by a card off.
