Grad parade hits Canyon Lake streets tomorrow

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club is holding its second High School and College Graduating Senior Parade tomorrow (Saturday) from 6:00 to 7:00 .pm. The parade will start at the Eastport Park parking lot and travel down Canyon Lake Drive before turning on Village Way and ending at Holiday Harbor.

“We encourage everyone to come on out and sit along the route and cheer them on,” club founder Shawna Bowen said. “It has been a trying year for all of them. Your senior year is always hard enough without the addition of COVID-19.”

The Graduating High School and College Seniors will all be receiving a goodie bag at the start of the parade compliments of Brenda Lou Zingg and the Super Zingg’s real estate team.

Once the parade arrives at Holiday Harbor, the grads will be driven through the parking lot past awaiting tables of goodies. Several donors have supplied goodies, gift cards, etc.  As they drive by each station and hang their commemorative goodie bag out, it will be filled with things being given to help show how proud everyone in their Canyon Lake family is of them, Shawna said.

There is still time to sign up a graduate at the club’s website familymattersclub.org. There is also still time to be a gift giver at the end of the parade. Those wishing to do so can contact Donna Lovejoy at 951-970-6628 and she will provide the details on how to be a part of making this celebration spectacular.
