Women’s Golf Club holds annual senior tourney

JOANNA SPILLER, Super Senior Winner

KK Beecher, Barbara Spraul and Joanna Spiller were the three big winners of the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club Senior Championship Tournament held on recently at the Canyon Lake Golf Course and Country Club.

KK was the Low Gross winner and Barbara was the Low Net winner. Joanna was the Super Senior winner for scoring the best of those age 75 and over. Forty-three players participated in the tournament hosted by the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club Past Presidents (CLIPPS).

The overall winners for Low Gross and Low Net will have their names engraved on the Senior Championship trophies that are displayed in the trophy case in the Country Club lobby.

In addition to the overall winners there were four Gross Flight Winners: A Flight – Gerry Meeks, B Flight – Victoria Wood, C Flight – Linda Johnson and D Flight – Ellie Clow.

There were also two Low Net Winners in each flight: A Flight: 1st Julie Faia, 2nd Kathy Werder, B Flight: 1st Donna Nunes, 2nd Dianne Schneider, C Flight: 1st Lou DeYoung, 2nd Mimi La Rosa, D Flight: 1st Joanna Spiller, 2nd Claudia Pinto.

BARBARA SPRAUL, Overall Net Tournament Winner

“The players enjoyed a delicious luncheon at the country club along with homemade bundt cakes by Maxine Whalen,” Valerie Montgomery of the club said. “The CLIPPS would like to thank the Country Club and Pro Shop for all their help.”
