Chris Poland, Outgoing CLPOA Board President

It has been a very productive year for this board. Thank you for your service, dedication to the community, and taking actions in the community’s best interest. 5-0 votes.

I hope that our weekly board updates, expanded board agenda packages, expanded information on the website, our discussions at the board meetings and workshops, and the highlights summary presented last week have given you an unprecedented level of information about our thinking and basis for our decision making. I was pleased to see that much of the available information found its way into Facebook and was referenced often in local reporting in the Friday Flyer.

The work of the board is clearly stated in the bylaws, and it is continuous. Each board should pick up from where the last board left off, adjust the direction as they believe is needed and seamlessly continue the process. Next week’s orientation meeting for the new board includes a number of new policies, formalized processes and tracking and financial planning tools to facilitate the handoff.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve as a director and, for the last year, as the president. I am proud of the work of this board and the contributions we made.
