Letter: More relief funds available for POA

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

In last week’s Friday Flyer there were two seemingly-unrelated articles published. PPP loan forgiven and fiscal change on ballot. Our POA dues have increased, yet both restaurants were shuttered for a while and the Country Club is still closed one and a half days a week. The Canyon Lake POA received $1,103,000 from the PPP Federal Fund which has been forgiven.

On April 28, the Restaurant Revitalization Fund became available with billions of dollars in aid. I called the POA office to advise them of this and was told that Lynn, who handles the restaurants, was not available but I was given her email address. I sent her the notification and all details on how to apply on April 29 and have followed up to check on the results, but have not received a reply.

The two restaurants are heavily subsidized by POA dues and I would request the current status of the loan application. If it has not been applied for, why not, since the POA seems to think it is not required to answer requests from homeowners who are footing the costs.
