The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club held a unique weekend event Saturday for Canyon Lakers eager to learn how to wakeboard and surf. Individuals from all skill levels and age ranges flocked down to the North Ski Area to participate in the event.
The club’s “Learn to Ride” event was open to Canyon Lake POA members who registered and paid a fee of $20. Members of the club used their boats and boards in the teaching of those who showed up the basics of wake boarding and wake surfing.
Everyone who purchased a ticket also were automatically entered into a raffle drawing. More than 10 raffle winners pulled their ticket out of those who entered. Prizes ranged from wakeboard gear, to a boat bumper, float and gift certificate.
“Thanks to all the community members and sponsors who came out to make this event so successful,” Club Treasurer Kelly Hauger said. “We look forward to our next ‘Learn to Ride’ event in September.”
