Letter: POA Candidates

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I have read all the candidate statements, saw video and had some discourse with candidates. There are a lot of statements about transparency and unity and togetherness…all good. But, a driveway meeting with Carl Gardner defined where we should be looking.

Get fiscally solid. There is no hurry to spend other peoples’ (members) money. A proposed $8-10K improvement on a dog park boosted to $100K (what? who did that?) There’s no rush to complete a Sierra Park North project. It can be done in a timely and economically responsible manner. Moves like “Canines and Cocktails” could easily become “Dogs & Drunks.”

How about a year off from losing money at the Lodge and lease it to a professional food service company and quit losing $40-$50K a year?

All Items of fiscal review are part of Carl’s plan. Just ask him, I did. Everybody in Canyon Lake searches for a good gardner. We found one: Carl Gardner.
