Second Time Around opens in Town Center

The Second Time Around shop has opened in the Canyon Lake Town Center by 30-year Canyon Lake residents Darlene and Rich Moine. The new store is not a consignment or thrift store, Rich said, but it is “the treasures my wife Darlene has acquired and collected in our over 40 years of marriage,” he said.

The store is located at 31580 Railroad Canyon Road between the Canyon Lake Smoke Shop and PZA Restaurant, two doors down from the Sports Stop.

The store formally opened  Monday and its hours of operation are noon to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except for Tuesday when it is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rich said they are open to private viewings outside of these posted hours by making an appointment.

“We have everything from martini shakers, pictures, Marilyn Monroe collector pieces, lots of cookware, dishes, high end bedding and men and women’s clothing 35% still have the tags,” he said. “This is not Goodwill quality. We also have lots and lots of purses, some of which are designer purses, but more are just really nice affordable ones.”

Additional inventory arrives weekly which encourages customers to keep visiting, he said.

“This business is for a few short months while we look forward to opening a new business in the fall at the same location,” Rich said. “The reaction has been consistent when a customer realizes this is all our stuff. They usually say three things: ‘OMG,’ ‘you have so much cool stuff’ and ‘it is really priced affordably,’ because it is priced to move. This again is not a long-term business for us.”

Rich said Canyon Lake is the most supportive community they have ever seen.

“We are confident you will find a treasure you never expected when you came through our doors,” he said.
