CL students sought for scholarships

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club is looking for Canyon Lake students for its annual scholarships. Canyon Lake residents who are currently seniors in high school and who are planning on continuing their education after graduation are eligible to apply.

Continuing education can be in the form of four-year or two-year universities, vocational schools, institutes and academies.

The scholarship is merit-based and its requirements for entry have changed those of previous years. There is a 3.0 minimum GPA requirement.

Applicants must respond to a prompt with a two-page double-spaced essay and submit two letters of recommendation. They also must be interviewed by a panel of scholarship chair members. The newest component is that applicants will receive bonus points on their verified volunteer work.

Applications are available on the club’s website at canyonlakejwc.org. Completed applications are due by April 23 and must be submitted through email at jwcscholarships@gmail.com.
