Letter: Embrace our differences

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I do agree that any flag that includes foul language should be immediately reported to the proper authorities. Bullying is horrendous. However, that is not the real reason why some people want no flags flying on homes. It is the dislike of Donald Trump who is liked by many here in Canyon Lake.

Do we remember when Maxine Waters advised people to harass Republican politicians in public? Nothing was done. Also, one could not enter a park in Minnesota inhabited by liberals if one was a conservative. College campuses all over America refused to let students with conservative views express themselves on their campuses.

We here in Canyon Lake should be better than that. Let us express our loyalty to whomever we want at any time that we want and that includes politicians, sports teams, war veterans, city leaders and flags supporting our city. This is a free society, so let us act like it and embrace our differences.

– Paul Parque
