Clubs to hold virtual Speak to Candidates Forum

In preparation for the May Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association annual meeting, which will include the election of three board members, the association’s clubs will hold its annual Speak to the Candidates Forum early next month.

The usually-live event at the Lodge will be held virtually this year and recorded as a YouTube video, according to Ron Martel, the coordinator of the multi-club event. The date of the video has not yet been determined, but will be available for viewing by all community members. The date and instructions of the viewing will be announced soon/

Being discussed at the Speak to the Candidates Forum will also be the seven different ballot measures the Canyon Lake POA has placed on the ballot.

The deadline for prospective candidates for the three contested seats on the board is Thursday (March 11) at 3:00 p.m.

Ron is reaching out to club leaders in Canyon Lake to volunteer to participate on a panel that will ask questions of the candidates. He is envisioning five or six club representatives sitting on the panel.

“These are challenging times,” Ron said. “But, we have reason to hope for a better tomorrow.”
