In Memoriam: Carole Jean LeMire

Carole Jean LeMire, 87, passed away on Jan. 24 from an unfortunate accident. She was born in Glendale CA on May 9, 1933 and was married when she was 14 years old to Bill LeMire for 60 years.

Carole and Bill owned and operated their own chrome plating business, Washington Plating in Whittier CA, for 30 years. In the 1960s, they moved to Buena Park and then, upon their retirement in 1989, they moved to Canyon Lake.

When their family followed, she and Bill joined many of the Canyon Lake clubs. Carole and Bill won several contests in Canyon Lake, including boat parades and home decorating contests at Christmas. Carole made and decorated all of her own hand-painted lawn ornaments. She loved Christmas.

There were many parties for friends and family at her beach-front home in Canyon Lake.

Carole and Bill moved in 2005 to Sun City where, in 2007, Bill passed away.

Carole’s love for dancing never died. At age 85, Carole won the dance contest at the Lighthouse New Year’s Eve Party. Her family continued to take her to as many dances as possible. If you didn’t know Carole, you would know of her if you ever attended any dance in Canyon Lake.

She was devoted to her family: husband Bill LeMire, son Mike LeMire and daughter Karen Spirlong.

Carole is survived by Karen Spirlong and Jim Spirlong, three grandchildren, Jon, Travis and Michell, and three fur babies Bob, Mickey and Sammy.

We miss you and hope you are dancing once again with Dad and Mike. You’re forever in our hearts.
