Both the Men’s and Women’s Canyon Lake Golf Clubs will be holding Valentine-themed tournaments next week.

First, the Canyon lake Women’s Golf Club will hold its popular “All You Need is Love…and Golf” Valentine’s Tournament on Tuesday. Then, next Saturday (Feb. 13), the Men’s Golf Club will hold its Sweetheart Tournament.

The women’s tournament is one of the most anticipated golf events of the year with its fun four-person Scramble Format, gross and net prizes awarded in different flights, Closest to the Pin award and, of course, the club’s own Pat Kemball teeing it off for each group on Hole 12.

Members are encouraged to form a team now and sign up in the Pro Shop. The tournament fee is $21. The fee does not include green fees. With COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no typical luncheon following the tournament.

The Women’s Golf Club’s Valentine Tournament Committee includes KK Beecher, Linda Johnson, Linda Kamashian and Anne Norris.

Then, four days later, the Men’s Golf Club is holding the Jack & Jack / Jack & Jill Sweetheart Tournament. The tournament is made up of foursomes where the golfers pick the group. Jack and Jill Flights with one man best ball and one woman best ball. Jack and Jack Flights with two best ball.

In addition to gross and net winners in all flights, individual skins and closest to the pin prizes, the club will award the Sweetheart Couple of the Year Award.

The fee to participate is $50 per person, green fee and cart not included. Complimentary range balls will be provided by Head Pro Pat Kembell. Check in will be between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. Signups will take place at the Pro Shop with a Tuesday cutoff deadline.

“If you want to play and do not have a partner, let Dan Rawlins, our Tournament Director, know and he will hook you up!” Men’s Club President Bruce Wallace said. “If you have not signed up yet, do it now, so you don’t get left out of the fun!”
