Canyon Lake teens named Students of the Month

Two Canyon Lake teenagers have been named the February Students of the Month for their corresponding high schools.

Hayden Benham was named the male Student of the Month at Temescal Canyon High School and Nicolas Amador was named the male Student of the Month at  Elsinore High School.

The Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the monthly honor for 25 years. The presentation is usually made at a luncheon, but with COVID-19 restrictions, this month’s program will be held virtually on Tuesday.

The monthly honorees will also be considered for the Student of the Year, which will include a scholarship. The high schools in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District participate in the monthly and annual program.

The honorees also receive a gift bag with over a dozen gift certificates and gifts from area restaurants and stores. Sponsors include another dozen organizations and dignitaries from area cities and other governmental agencies.
