Triathlon Club holds Santa Ride holiday event

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club celebrated the holiday season outdoors instead of its usual annual indoor holiday party.

All club members were invited to join the Santa Ride on Dec. 19.

“Our decision to do this was because of COVID-19,” Maria Kivrizis, president of the club, said. “We wanted to show appreciation and unity for our members, while still keeping everyone involved.”

The ride began by meeting at The Lodge parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and riding through the community. Those who were not cyclists were also welcome to walk or run for the approximately 10k course.

The ride then ended back where it began and members enjoyed mimosas, hot chocolate, and cookies.

“We would love to do this again,” Maria said. “It was so nice to see everyone dressed up and being creative!”

Members who wore their Santa hats or other holiday garb received a special red beanie with the club’s logo.
