App-based drivers no longer need to be called in to gate

With the proliferation of food delivery and rideshare services continuing to increase, the Canyon Lake POA made the process for letting these drivers into the community substantially easier for both the drivers and for those who requested the service.

Those app-based transportation and delivery services, such as Uber, Lyft, Instacart, Grubhub, DoorDash, Postmates, etc., are now exempt from being called in by a member of the community.

Community access will now be granted provided the driver can show a valid Canyon Lake order for delivery or pick up on the app and can also present the driver’s valid driver’s license. The driver’s app showing the order will be proof that the Canyon Lake resident requested the service.

Upon verification, the delivery or rideshare drivers will no longer be issued a paper pass. Instead, a one-time entry will be recorded against the responsible member’s property. Any subsequent request for re-entry on the same day will have to be accompanied by another valid delivery or pick up order.

This change is being made to prevent members from being responsible for those drivers and citations while they are servicing other members.
