Women’s Golf Club holds Christmas Tournament

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club held its annual Christmas Tournament last week and then wrapped up the day with a socially-distanced lunch, tournament awards and the installation of the 2021 Board of Directors.

Additionally, those who participated in the tournament each donated an unwrapped toy to The Mattress Firm Foster Children Program, a recognized 501c non-profit that serves 2,500 foster children in the Temecula Valley.

“Not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child” is the motto of the charity program. The Christmas Tournament collected and donated over 100 toys.

For those interested in donating a gift to the charity, Mattress Firm stores have drop boxes at each of its locations.

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club results for the two flights were:

Candy Cane Flight ─ 1st place: Becky Bowie, Sheryl Fine, Karen Reams, Joanna Spiller, Denise Viotti; 2nd place: Diane Paris, Rose Girard, Elaine Grady, Claudia Pinto, Joanna Uhler, Tessa Welch and 3rd place: Joanne Bellerive, Linda Kielty, Teresa Roberson, Kim Robinson, Nancy Tice.

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club plays every Tuesday at the Canyon Lake Golf Course with a shotgun start 8:00 a.m. for 18 holes of golf. Ladies who would like to join the group for safe and fun golf should contact President Ina Pickard at 951-970-7714.
