S.I.S. to hold blood drive

The newly created Sisters in Service Sorority, made up of graduated Girl Scouts from Canyon Lake’s Troop 1077, will be holding a blood drive tomorrow (Saturday) from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Menifee.

The S.I.S. Sorority will be partnering with the organization LifeStream to host the blood drive. The need for donated blood has increased during the pandemic and all donated blood from this drive will be provided to those affected in the community.

S.I.S. was formed after the graduated Girl Scouts of Troop 1077 wished to continue their charity work in the community. Since its formation, the sorority has recruited additiional girls from throughout the community as members.

The members are college freshmen and high school senior girls who have grown up in the City of Canyon Lake and nearby. The former Girl Scouts dedicated the past 12 years of service in the troop to volunteering for many clubs, charities and events throughout Canyon Lake.

In the upcoming years, they hope to exercise the sorority motto, “Girls With Dreams Become Women With Vision.”

As this is their first event as a sorority, the girls said they look forward to gaining more momentum and more success with each additional experience.

Appointments for the blood drive are appreciated and walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment call 800.879.4484 or visit LStream.org.
