Canyon Laker’s grandson graduates basic training

Jackson Buckley, grandson of longtime Canyon Lake residents Helen and John Sullivan recently enlisted in the United States Air Force and graduated from boot camp last month in San Antonio, Texas.

Jackson is a Missile and Space technician and is currently stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base. He will be relocating to the USAF Global Strike Command Base in Minot, North Dakota in December.

Jackson graduated with honors from Sage Creek High School in San Diego in June and will be pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering while in the Air Force. He was celebrated as the Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year. “Although his grandpa John passed away last year, his love, spirit and gentle ways live on in all who knew him,” Helen said. “Jackson is excited to serve his country. I’m so proud of my grandson.”

Helen is active in the community and plays on the Women’s 9ers Golf Club and supports numerous other Canyon Lake events.
