Melissa Vogel helps moms get fit

Melissa Vogel is an avid fitness mogul, who prides herself on helping mothers in Canyon Lake to become both mentally and physically fit.

Not only is she a fitness professional, she also is an actress, model, podcast host and a mother of three daughters.

“My main niche is training moms,” Melissa said. “I coach and train women to basically take control of their health and fitness. I’m here to teach women to not leave themselves on the backburner.”

Melissa hosts virtual workouts on her website MelissaVogelFitness.com. Her program has over 100 participants, all mothers who are looking for like-minded women with whom to work out. She said she works with moms who want to be fit and toned, while balancing family life and their careers.

Melissa grew up in a family that placed a strong emphasis on health and fitness.

“My dad  lifted weights and my mom was always active,” she said. “They both did martial arts, and I grew up doing it as well. Fitness is embedded in my DNA.”

As the fitness industry grows bigger, Melissa wants to make sure that all moms feel accepted in that world. Her virtual fitness program does exactly that, she said.

“When you become a mom, your life completely changes,” she said. “We can’t lose ourselves to motherhood. We have to make time for ourselves. It’s an open safe space for mothers to join us, no matter their fitness level.”

Her fitness program does not place fitness on a one-track mindset.

“I base my program on self love and self confidence,” Melissa said. “Not only do I make sure my program strengthens women’s physical appearance, but their mentality as well.”

The program is committed to abolish extreme dieting and unsustainable methods of fitness. She said participants may receive quick results, but it’s all temporary without embracing all aspects of her program.

“My program is sustainable,” she said. “The strength you gain in this program is permanent.”

At the latest count, Melissa’s virtual fitness program is made up of 110 mothers who complete four workouts a week. She said it is important to not take the fitness journey alone.

“I make sure I establish relationships with every single person who joins this program,” she said. “It’s a group mindset. That’s why our group mascot is a shark. We can’t stop swimming. If we stop swimming, we will lose our momentum, just like a shark. Fit moms don’t have time to stop swimming. We make the time.”

Melissa also shares her passion for fitness and all around wellness on her podcast, “Bomb Mom” that was created in April. The podcast treads on all topics of wellness from hormones, fad diets, breaking harmful habits and much more.

“My podcast has a surprisingly wide range of audience,” Melissa said. “Men and teenagers actively listen to it as well. As a working mom, I know first hand how hard it can be, which is why I’ve created the podcast. I have also had listeners in South Africa who have loved my podcast. Who would’ve thought?”

Melissa’s social media platforms have contributed to the outreach of moms around the world. A big chunk of her life is documented on social media, including Instagram and Facebook (@melissavogelfitness).

“I try to show my followers that they have the ability to make the time to be active,” she said. “I show them how I make sure to value fitness in my busy life.”
