In Memoriam: Darlene Crinion

Darlene Crinion. (June 16, 1938 – October 2, 2020)

Darlene Ann Crinion, 82, of Canyon Lake, died unexpectedly Oct. 2, 2020. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 16, 1938 to parents Edward and Violet (Carlson) Gusman.

Darlene began her life in Chicago where she attended Kelvyn Park High School and Wright Junior College before starting her family. Darlene was a resident of Mission Viejo prior to moving to Canyon Lake in the early 1980s.

She was an avid golfer and a member of the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club and the Canyon Lake Niners golf team. She enjoyed Bingo and frequent casino outings with family and friends. She was also a long-time member of The Grannies Group and the Bunko Club.

Most of all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, dog-mom to Tinker, loyal friend and loving partner to her companion of many years Tony Brown. She leaves behind a heartbroken family who will miss her laughter, honesty and strong heart every day.

Darlene is survived by her sister, Deloris (Dick) Martin, daughters, Kathy (Kevin) Corcoran and Karen Chetock, sons, Kevin and Steven Komperda, grandchildren Danielle (Joshua) Clark, Ciara (Michael) McFarland, Jacob Chetock, Meghan (J.P.) Santone, Shane (Briana) Corcoran, Molly (Jared) Slaybaugh and Michael Scanlan Jr. along with 12 great-grandchildren.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Violet (Carlson) Gusman, her sister Jacqueline (Frank) Yarnell, husbands Daniel Scanlan, Alan Komperda and Loren Crinion and her son Michael Scanlan.
