In Memoriam: Darron James Guy

The family of Darron James Guy is very sad to announce his passing this summer at the age of 43.

He was born and raised in Torrance, CA. At age 5, he joined the Dodgers Little League team and thus began his life-long love of baseball and the Dodgers. He continued playing baseball through Little League, High School Varsity and then on to adult baseball and softball teams. As an avid fan, he made sure to attend opening day at Dodger Stadium every year.

In 1986, his family bought vacation property in Canyon Lake, and Darron always liked bringing his friends to the lake. In 1993, he was selected to represent Torrance as a student Ambassador in Australia and New Zealand, where he lived with two families that summer. He really enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime experience and had hoped to return someday.

Darron graduated from South High in Torrance in 1994. Then in 1996, he met his future wife, Sarah of Redondo Beach. They moved to Santa Barbara for a couple of years. When they returned to the South Bay, Darron began his career as an Auto Service Advisor. In May of 2000, Darron and Sarah were married in Laguna Beach, and two years later bought their first home in Torrance. Then in 2007, they made the move to Canyon Lake.

Darron was an amazing and proud father who would do anything for his three sons, Jacob, (16), Mason (14) and Clayton (8).  He loved life and spending time with friends and family. Besides baseball, he really enjoyed off-roading, camping, swimming, boating, music and entertaining in his beautiful backyard. Everyone who knew him, will never forget his great sense of humor and gift of gab. He was honored with a celebration of life at Indian Beach, where he loved to hang out.

Darron is survived by his wife, Sarah, sons Jacob, Mason and Clayton, parents Jim and Cheryl, younger brother Jarrod (and wife Jacquei), niece Katie and nephews Bill and Dominic.

His family would like to extend its appreciation and gratitude to all of the friends and neighbors who have offered assistance and condolences during this difficult time. We will truly miss Darron’s earthly presence, but he will live forever in our hearts, thoughts and memories.
