CL moms team up to create ‘951 Dip N Sip’

Seeing their new versatile dip product on the shelves of local markets is a dream come true for Canyon Lake moms Kristin Ray and Miriam Sergeant. The two have created various dip flavors that can be used with fruits, candies, drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Their homemade product, 951 Dip “N” Sip, is sold at the Canyon Lake Market and the Eastport Market.

“All of the local markets have been so helpful and we’re just so grateful,” Kristin said. “We wish to expand our business into larger markets such as Stater Brothers.”

The 951 Dip “N” Sip offers a large range of flavors for everyone’s liking, from the sour-sweet taste of Tamarindo to their various tropical fruit flavors.

“We’re always experimenting with new flavors and tastes,” Miriam said. “That’s how we came up with the pineapple flavor. We’re always looking to make better flavors of our dip. That’s why they’re so popular.”

The two were influenced into creating their own version of a drink dip during the summer of this year when they both realized they could make the existing store-bought dips even better.

“When we both began to create our own dips together, and they came out so delicious, we knew we had to sell them and make some money,” Kristin said. “It’s nice to keep things local as well. That’s why we added the 951 area code to the label of our product.”

The new business owners are also getting really good at juggling. Between them, they’re home with five children (Miriam with two and Kristin with three).

“As the kids are working on school work, we’re in the kitchen,” Kristin said. “Prepping takes a lot of work, it is very tedious.”

“We’re on the stove for hours at a time,” Miriam said. “We want to get each and every dip flavor right.”

For more information about their dips, Miriam and Kristin can be contacted through their Business Facebook Page, 951 Dip “N” Sip. They also have an Instagram account, @951dipnsip. And, of course, the dips are available at Canyon Lake Market and Eastport Market.
