CL Chamber looking to revamp, rebrand itself

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is making a serious push to rebrand itself and invigorate the organization with new leadership blood. Its first major step in that direction was to hire a marketing and communications director.

Kristina Rasband was hired to the position this summer and has already been busy at her task to give the nearly 30-year-old chamber a refreshed image.

Additionally, the chamber is looking to fill its Board of Directors with six vacant positions including vice president.

Kristina has settled into her new job quickly. She has created a new Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce logo and is working on a whole new brand identification. She is redesigning the chamber website and social media platforms, developing event flyers and pamphlets, creating membership packets and starting a monthly newsletter.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Canyon Lake Chamber’s journey,” Kristina said. “I’m eager to meet those who are proud business owners who want to share their business with others.”

The revamping and rebranding of the chamber includes adding to its leadership. The volunteer positions of Vice President and five directors with specific responsibilities are being solicited from among its membership.

“The Chamber of Commerce is here to help local businesses network and grow a stronger community among business owners and the public,” Kristina said. “The chamber is looking for energetic, responsible, creative and hard-working individuals who can help achieve just that.”

The five directors the chamber is looking to recruit are Director of Volunteers, Director of Sponsorship and Donations, Director of Membership, Director of Member Events and Director of Community Events.

Those who are interested should submit a cover letter to the chamber at CanyonLakeChamber@outlook.com and follow the chamber on Instagram and Facebook.

The new leaders will be working with a well-qualified new employee in Kristina.

Kristina has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. Prior to her employment with the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, she worked for production companies in Los Angeles that have helped market such brands as Red Bull, Walmart and Coca-Cola. She also worked for the Walt Disney Company as a reporter for the Disneyland Resort and California Adventure.

In addition to her new responsibilities at the chamber, Kristina, who has been singing and performing since the age of three, teaches voice lessons at Temecula Music Teacher. She is also a flight attendant for a major airline carrier.

In her spare time, when she has any, Kristina said she loves to write music, learn photography, sing karaoke, camp with her boyfriend and visit local thrift stores. For 14 years she performed as the lead singer of the local band Guilty Conscience.

“I absolutely love meeting new people and experiencing new things,” she said. “As you can tell, I like to keep myself busy.”
