Letter: Dog Killed

Editor, The Friday Flyer

Our dog was fatally attacked by an unleashed dog on Thursday night last week in the community on Point Marina. My husband, nine-year-old daughter and I were walking our small dog, who was in a harness and leashed, when a dog viscously attacked and killed our dog.

This pet of Ellen Malone’s family was out for a walk last week when an unleashed dog attacked and killed it. It is possible the attacking dog is still on the loose.

I am reaching out because the woman with the dog, who that night claimed it was her son’s dog. is now saying that the dog is a stray and has run away after the incident. If this is the case, a very dangerous dog is at large in the community and was last seen on Point Marina and Swan Point.

We contacted the POA and they told us they can do nothing! But, to call them if we see the dog again.

Animal Control has closed its investigation, stating that the dog is runaway now. We want to ensure that this dog does not attack again and want to get the word out that this dog is potentially on the loose. There is additional footage of the dog having to be pulled back from lunging towards another small dog a few minutes after it killed our dog.
