Hole-in-one fever flares up on CL Golf Course

Days after Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club member Elaine Grady sank a hole in one at the Canyon Lake Golf Course, Chuck Holley, who has been a member of the Men’s Golf Club for the last 33 years, duplicated the feat, this time on the 11th hole Friday.

Holes in one for 88-year-old Chuck aren’t the singular lifetime event most golfers strive for. Friday’s hole in one was not only his second one at the Canyon Lake Golf Course, but his sixth overall. His first Canyon Lake Golf Course hole in one was on the second hole 10 years ago.

“I hit it towards the hole pretty well, but I thought it might have been long,” Chuck said. “I didn’t see it in the bushes behind the hole and when I checked again, there it was in the hole!”

Chuck was golfing with his friends Larry Gann and Tom Steinle, whom he celebrated with at the bar on the patio. As is the tradition, the Men’s Golf Club bought the drinks to celebrate the hole-in-one.
