Canyon Lake golfer Elaine Grady wouldn’t believe it until she walked up onto the green and saw her ball nestled into the 8th-hole cup. She had just made her first hole in one.

Her tee shot Tuesday with a 5 Hybrid club lofted the ball onto the Canyon Lake Golf Course green and it bounced right into the cup, earning her not only bragging rights of a singular accomplishment, but also $2,773 in prize money from the Canyon Lake Ladies Progressive Hole in One pot. The shot was witnessed by KK Beecher and Kathy Werder and thus it was certified a hole in one.

Her playing partner, KK, saw it roll into the hole, but Elaine was not convinced she’d actually made the hole in one until she went up and saw it in the cup herself.

Elaine said it was quite exciting and completely unexpected since she only started golfing in September 2017. Elaine and her husband Joel bought their home in Canyon Lake in August 2016. She joined the Canyon Lake 9ers in November 2018 and joined the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club in November 2019.

Elaine said that it has been great to receive many congratulations from the other women in the Women’s Golf Club and said that camaraderie is why she enjoys playing with the ladies on Tuesdays.
