90th Birthday

Betsy Pitcher, a Canyon Lake resident of 17 years, happily stands by the sunflower-themed refreshment stand during her surprise 90th birthday celebration this week. Her daughters, Twila Brand from Lake Elsinore and Kelly Andresick from Liberty Lake, Washington (with her in the photo to the right), put on the event. Those in attendance were her neighbors and friends from church as well as a niece from Texas and granddaughter from Washington. A video of well wishes from 43 family members and friends from all over the country was shown, which included a birthday serenade from Rodge Cayette and his fellow police officers who were on afternoon duty. “It was a beautiful afternoon of hugs, fellowship, good food and laughter,” daughter Kelly said. “Mom’s ability to make friends anywhere, smile always, love unconditionally and share the love of Jesus makes her an incredibly-loved lady! It was a cherished memory! Thank you to all who made it so special!”
