Sara Price signs racing sponsorship

Sara Price, a professional racer, stuntwoman and entrepreneur, has made Canyon Lake proud by achieving another accomplishment in the world of racing. The Chip Ganassi Racing has signed Sara, making it the first Extreme E Team to announce a driver.

“Extreme E is a new, high-end series to the world of racing where we will be racing electric SUVs all over the world,” Sara said. “The goal is to leave the most minimal carbon footprint we possibly can while still racing at these impacted terrains around the world.”

Sara’s passion for racing began in Canyon Lake.

“I moved to Canyon Lake when I was 8 years old, and that’s when my parents bought me my first dirt bike,” she said. “My brother was pretty heavy into motocross at the time and when he would go to the tracks to practice, I would ride too and that’s what started it all.”

Among the many awards and recognitions that she has received, Sara said that what she is most proud of is being a champion at the 2019 Score Baja Championship in the Trophy Truck Spec Class.

“I have always set my goals high. Sometimes the goals feel impossible, but I put my head down and work hard for them,” Sara said. “My best advice is to not be afraid to just get out there and try; the worst that can happen is you fail, but you learn a ton and only come back stronger.”

Sara has also given back to the community through activities such as visiting children’s hospitals. As Sara travels to places like Mexico, she will continue to help as many causes in as many places as possible, she said.

The next event she will be participating in is the Chattanooga Whiskey Trophy Truck for America’s longest off-road race, “Vegas to Reno” in August. After that, Sara will be preparing for Extreme E and getting ready for her first race in January.

“It is an honor to be a part of Chip Ganassi Racing,” Sara said. “They are a legendary team that has won in the most elite series around the world like Nascar, INDY car and so much more. This will be CGR’s first time stepping foot into any sort of electric racing and I know they will be determined to win like myself.”
