Fundraiser places flamingos on unsuspecting lawns

With COVID-19 shutting down traditional methods of raising funds, Canyon Lake clubs are getting creative. How about having a flock of flamingos temporarily planted on a friend or neighbor’s front yard?

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club can make it happen.

The club is offering up its Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser where a flock of flamingos can be purchased to fill a front yard until the flock, 48-hours later, migrates to another’s yard.

The flocks are only available until June 14 and can be reserved by calling Donna Lovejoy at 951-970-6628 or by going to the club’s website at FamilyMattersClub.org to book the flock.

Each flock will be accompanied by a sign in the yard and a letter explaining their arrival stating they have “Just Been Flocked.” The flock will migrate to another yard in 48 hours unless the recipient calls the club’s Trained Flamingo Technician for “re-homing.”

There are three options to choose from when ordering the flamingo flock. The three, all of which include a yard sign and letter, are a Migration (flock of 12) for $20, a Stop Over (flock of 24 for $35 and a Flamboyance (flock of 50) for $50.

The proceeds from the fundraiser go to sponsor Family Matters Philanthropic efforts in Canyon Lake.
