The Next Pour, a unique local restaurant where menu items are named after Canyon Lake streets, couldn’t have been dealt a worse blow when it came time to open. Who could have predicted a pandemic would break out and table dining would be prohibited?
Regardless, open it did in early March, soon before COVID-19 and social distancing caused them to turn to filling take-out orders only.
This past Friday, the Mediterranean-style restaurant opened its doors again, with limited seating and restrictions.
That first day, Canyon Laker Diann Oltman and her family decided to go to The Next Pour to order take-out. To her surprise, they were offered a table outside. “After the first round of drinks, a table opened up inside and we went in and felt normal!” Diann said. “Overall it was great.”
Reservations should be made as business is going well and social distancing needs to be adhered to.
Debbie Jones, who also lives in Canyon Lake, recently dined at The Next Pour. “We were at the farmers market on Sunday and heard we could go in and sit down for a meal,” Debbie said. “We weren’t super hungry, but wanted a little normal.” Debbie said she and her husband were very happy with the experience and food.
The Next Pour is truly a Canyon Lake business. In addition to it being located within the city and its dishes named after city streets, it is owned and operated by Canyon Lake residents Jason and Erin Hayes.
The Next Pour is located in the Canyon Lake Town Center at 31574 Railroad Canyon Road. The restaurant can be reached by phone at 951-430-1004 or contacted via email at info@thenextpourlounge.com.
