Full playground coming to Happy Camp

Although temporarily closed because of COVID-19 orders, Happy Camp will soon have some long-needed playground improvements installed.

The Canyon Lake POA approved on May 5 to make improvements to the campground that will include replacing the outdated play equipment with new playground equipment similar to Sunset Beach, Holiday Harbor, Indian Beach and Sierra Park. The campground now has a very old, but well loved and sturdy swing set. It will be replaced with a playground, shade and rubber fall protection.

The budgeted cost for the improvements will be $152,150 and will come from the Repair and Replacement Fund. The Campground Club will donate $5,000 toward the project.
