Easter Bunny not deterred by lockdown

Last year, these children could gather with the Easter Bunny at the annual Family Matters Club Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival. With COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the event was canceled this year, but the Family Matters club has regrouped and will bring eggs to Canyon Lake’s front lawns. If members of the Canyon Lake community can’t gather and come to the Easter Bunny, the Easter Bunny has decided to go to them.

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club will be doing just that. With its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival canceled because of the COVID-19 lockdown, the “Bunny Brigade” will take to the streets (and lawns) of Canyon Lake to deliver its Easter Eggs.

Canyon Lake families with children who would like the club to have the Easter Bunny come by and deliver a dozen prize-filled eggs to their front lawn, just need to sign up using the form on the club’s website, www.familymattersclub.org.

Each family can choose the option of the Easter Bunny coming the evening of Saturday, April 11 or the morning of Sunday, April 12. When filling out the online form, each family will list the number of children in the house. The Easter Bunny will deliver one dozen per child onto each home’s front lawn. The eggs will be filled with an assortment of toys (no candies).

“We at Family Matters hope this helps to bring a little bit of Easter joy during this difficult time,” Shawna Bowen of the club said.
