Fine Arts Guild to bring more live music to CL

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild is announcing a new program to bring more live music to the Canyon Lake community. It will be offering a grant of up to $500 to each of five clubs or organizations where live music at one of the club’s significant 2020 events could enhance their overall programs.

The club may enlist a band of its choosing, but for its convenience, the Guild will maintain a list of various local bands in this budget range for these purposes.

“The Guild’s mission is to provide and promote quality music in our community,” Guild President Ron Martel said. “Therefore, we are excited to help provide clubs in our community with live music at one of their upcoming events. It’s just one more way we enjoy giving back to our community.”

For more information, the Guild is asking Club leaders interested in applying for these grants to contact Guild Director Shari Skidmore by calling (949) 929-5037 or emailing whales1986@hotmail.com by March 15.

The latest Guild concert is a tribute to folk-rock supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young March 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lodge. Tribute performers CSN Express are traveling from Las Vegas to perform at this event. Tickets are only $25 for General Admission and $45 for VIP reserved seating. All tickets are available on the Guild website at CanyonLakeGuild.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the Canyon Lake POA office, but it carries General Admission tickets only.

The Guild has sold out every one of its concerts over the last four years and its Queen tribute concert this coming October has already sold out, eight months prior to the event. There are only a few dozen seats remaining for CSN Express, therefore the Guild urges those wishing to attend, to purchase tickets at their earliest convenience, Ron said.
