Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute concert coming

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild is presenting a CSN Express, a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band concert on March 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lodge. CSN Express, which captures the true look and sound of the iconic group, will take the Canyon Lake audience on a musical journey celebrating five decades of hit music.

As last month’s Eagles tribute concert sold out weeks prior to the event, the Guild is encouraging those interested to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out. According to President Ron Martel, there are only a couple dozen VIP tickets at $45 each and a couple dozen General Admission tickets at $25 each remaining.

This show promises to deliver powerful moments that will bring the audience to its feet, clapping and singing along to favorite folk-rock chart busters, such as Woodstock, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Our House, Just a Song Before I Go, Teach Your Children and many more. The group will deliver the songs in sweet four-part harmony.

While other Canyon Lake concerts might cost 30% to $50 more than Guild events, the Guild proudly charges the same low price for each event, Ron said. The Guild’s only source of funding has been ticket and membership purchases, but with over four years of sold out events it has been able to give back to the community. It recently donated $10,000 to the Canyon Lake POA to help improve the sound and lighting systems at the Lodge. This program is currently being implemented.

In order to help provide and promote quality music in the community, the Guild has become the largest donor to the Canyon Lake Choraleers as well as to the Canyon Lake Community Theater Group. Next, the Guild will be announcing a new program offering $500 grants to Canyon Lake clubs and organizations to help fund live music at their events. Details to be announced soon, Ron said.

Upcoming concerts include Neon Circus, a tribute to Brooks & Dunn, one of the most popular country music acts ever. This event will be May 30 at the Lodge. Selling more records than any other duo in any genre, Brooks & Dunn’s hit songs include My Maria, Neon Moon and Boot Scootin’ Boogie.

Queen Nation will provide its tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen October 17 at the Lodge. This event is already sold out. Songs will include: We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, You’re My Best Friend and Another One Bites The Dust.

After the Guild donated $25,000 to the Canyon Lake POA to help build the Amphitheater at Holiday Harbor, it sponsored two free concerts last summer. This year, the Guild will sponsor two more free events to the community. The first will be Motown Night, featuring the eight-piece Summerhill Soul Band on June 20.

To close out the summer, the Guild will present a tribute to Journey on Aug. 1 with DSB, named #1 Journey tribute in the nation by AXS-TV.

Tickets to all Guild Lodge concerts and additional information on all events can be found on the Guild’s website, CanyonLakeGuild.org.
