For the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club, there’s a whole lot more to Super Bowl Sunday than a football game. This year, the club decided to combine competitions of its own prior to the big game.

Members enjoyed a wonderful day of fun, food, friends and games, Steve Libring, the club secretary, said. The host of the party was Chef Anton Riniti, who was also celebrating his birthday. Club members enjoyed playing games and competing in tournaments before watching the Super Bowl on the big screen in Chef’s home theater.

Throughout the day there were many tournaments and Pickleball Club members placing were:

Chili Cookoff – 1st, Steve & Danielle Libring’s Italian Stallion Chili

8 Ball Pool Tournament – 1st, Scott Brunolea

Indoor Shuffle Board – 1st, Jason Libring

Backgammon – 1st, Chef Anton

Darts – 1st, Margaret Little

Giant Jenga – 1st, Jason Libring

Indoor Miniature Golf – 2nd, Margaret Little

“All in all it was a very fun day,” Steve said. “Chef Anton even installed a regulation pickleball court in his backyard. Chef was a spectacular host and made everyone feel welcome and included in all the activities planned. The Pickleball Club says ‘Happy Birthday, Chef, we enjoyed coming to your party!’ What a way to kickoff a new decade.’”
