Church group holds luncheon for those living alone

A luncheon for those in the area who live alone will be provided by the Priscilla Circle, one of six “circles” at the Canyon Lake Community Church, on Feb. 28. The main ministry of this group is PLAN, outreach to People Living Alone Now.

Approximately 30 women in the Priscilla Circle group meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the church’s Family Activities Building, for fellowship, friendship and outreach. All are welcome. There is always a theme, beautiful decorations, great food, pleasant conversation, music, and a testimony or two. Chairperson Lynda Ofstad welcomes the guests. Call 951-244-7866 for more information.

Three times a year, Priscilla ladies plan and provide a free luncheon for about 140 people, who may or may not be members of the church and who live alone.

The theme for the Feb. 28 PLAN luncheon, on Leap Year Day, is “Leap of Faith.” Valentine’s Day will also be part of the celebration. Maggie Mende is in charge of the food, which will be chili in four varieties, corn bread, salad, and for dessert, cake.

Priscilla members will provide great door prizes! Everyone in the community who lives alone and would enjoy warm fellowship is invited to join the group at the luncheon in the Family Activities Center at Canyon Lake Community Church. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the lunch starts at noon.
