Community Patrol presents stats for November

The Community Patrol and Marine Patrol reports for the month of November were presented by the POA on Jan. 3. The Community Patrol report was prepared by Account Manager William Jordan. The Marine Patrol report was prepared by Marine Patrol Captain Don Motteler.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol answered 295 calls for service. Staff performed 4,146 foot patrols of amenities and parks. Forty-two suspicious persons/vehicles were reported with an average response time by Community Patrol of 7.98 minutes.

Three speeding citations were issued by patrol in the month of November. The speed trailer issued 326 speeding citations. There were 300 parking citations issued.

Patrol issued seven verbal abuse to staff, 11 failure to comply, one bus stop and three noise citations.

Patrol received 56 animal-related calls and issued 10 citations.

Three vehicle accidents and three vandalism incidents were reported.

Gate Access

There were 17,025 guest passes issued at the main gate, 11,244 at the east gate and 7,731 at the north gate. There were 35,041 guest entries at the main gate, 22,387 at the east gate and 15,636 at the north gate. There were 62,762 RFID entries at the main gate, 20,881 at the east gate and 33,221 at the north gate.

Nine citations were issued for gate running and 328 guest passes were confiscated.

Marine Patrol

Marine Patrol received 56 calls for service and performed 30 boat safety inspections, 11 boat tows, one battery assist and 15 quagga inspections. Marine Patrol performed 15 fishing license checks and issued four citations. No citations were issued for POA expired/no registration or for state expired/no registration. No incidents were reported.

Marine Patrol boats operated on the main lake for 180.9 hours and on the East Bay for 180 hours. Boats did not operate at the north ski area in November.

About Community Patrol

The POA provides Community Patrol Services for the community. Its primary functions are to provide the community with gate access control, Rules and Regulations compliance and incident observation and reporting to the POA.

Community Patrol can assist with barking or loose dogs, illegal fishing, loud noise complaints, motorcycle riding in the community, speeding vehicles, parking violations, vehicle accidents and other non-emergency incidents.

The primary functions of Marine Patrol are to provide the community with services that include quagga and boat safety inspections, Rules and Regulations compliance and incident observation and reporting to the POA.

Police Services

Police services are provided by the City of Canyon Lake through a contract with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. For emergency situations and to report a crime, call 911 for help.
