In Memoriam: Doreen M. Gibson

Doreen M. Gibson, born Nov. 9, 1939, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, died Dec. 16, 2019, at the age of 80 in Canyon Lake, CA.

Doreen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who lost her eight-year battle with cancer.

Doreen’s incredible will and determination kept her with us for many years past her initial diagnosis. She was going to go out on her own terms and not what the disease dictated and that gave her family many years to enjoy her unfiltered spoken words. Doreen loved to travel, play golf, puzzles, coloring and Morro Bay.

Doreen is survived by her husband Dick Gibson; daughters Shawn Carriere, Leslie Carriere and Tracy Gibson; sons Rick Gibson and Dave Gibson; and grandson Tyler Carriere.
