EVMWD Board appoints Morris to president

A 5-0 decision was made by the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Board to appoint Director Andy Morris to president of the board.

Morris, whose leadership has focused on ensuring fiscal responsibility, providing excellence in service and protecting water supplies for the future of the community, will lead the board as president for a third time in his 10 years of service.

“It is my privilege to represent the community as the EVMWD board president for a third term,” said Morris. “Along with the board of directors, I am committed to providing excellent service to our customers and continuing to ensure a safe, reliable water supply to our community.”

Director Morris represents EVMWD’s Division 5, which includes sections of eastern Lake Elsinore, Wildomar and Murrieta. Morris is a local business owner who also serves as chairman of the Santa Rosa Regional Resource Authority and president of the Meeks & Daley Water Company on behalf of the district. He is the board’s representative to several local organizations, including Wildomar City Council, Murrieta City Council and the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce.

Other board officer positions announced at the meeting include Phil Williams, Division 4, as vice president and Darcy Burke, Division 1, as treasurer. Rounding out the board of directors are Harvey R. Ryan, representing Division 2, and Jared McBride, representing Division 3. Board officers serve a one-year term. The EVMWD Board of Directors regularly meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the EVMWD headquarters located at 31315 Chaney Street in Lake Elsinore.

EVMWD provides service to more than 155,000 water and wastewater customers in a 97-square-mile area in Western Riverside County. The district is a sub-agency of the Western Municipal Water District and a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. For more information, visit evmwd.com.
