Canyon Lakers cruise to Antigua, Sint Maarten

Daryl and Mickey France enjoyed an eight-day cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam, a ship of the Holland America fleet. The cruise departed from Florida and stopped in Antigua and Sint Maarten.

The 10th anniversary Malt Shop Memories Cruise included performances by The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson, Lou Christie and Bobby Rydell, to name a few. In addition to attending the many concerts the ship offered, Daryl and Mickey attended Space Night, Beach Party Night, Prom Night and a Sock Hop. They entered a costume contest as Laurel and Hardy and won first place. They were awarded a free dinner.

In Antigua, Daryl and Mickey toured the city, Fort James and Nelson’s Dockyard.

In Sint Maarten, the couple stayed aboard the ship and enjoyed the hydro pool. “We visited Sint Maarten before, so this time we stayed on board and enjoyed an empty ship,” said Daryl.

Daryl and Mickey will be traveling to Hawaii with their grandchildren in March and plan to take another Malt Shop Memories Cruise next year.
