“Trees the Season,” a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home owned by Tammy and Randy Revard, showcases a festive touch with a view of the lake and lodge.

Tammy and Randy embrace decorating for the holiday season, done in memory of Randy’s mother who enjoyed Christmas. Their home features 10 holiday trees, each with a special meaning. Included among them are Randy’s fishing tree and a pink tree honoring Randy’s mother’s fight with breast cancer.

Last year, the couple added a movie-themed tree. Feeling blessed with Randy’s double lung transplant in February 2017, they added a Donate for Life tree to their collection this year.

Tammy and Randy have a hot air balloon tree, featuring stained glass that reflects rainbows, that they keep up year-round because it reminds them of the love they have for lost family and friends.

In addition to the trees and sentimental offerings, the home features fun animated décor, which earned the couple the title of Most Humorous House in the Home Owners Club Holiday Home Decorating Contest in 2014.

Their guest bedroom features a boat-shaped bed and their two patios where they often entertain features views of the lake, lighthouse, lodge and sunsets.

Home Two

Two palm trees greet visitors to the home of Shelli and Justin Lewis, high school sweethearts who re-connected later in life. Among the holiday decor is Shelli’s Santa collection. Photo provided by Kasey Castillo

“Santa’s Favorite Hangout” belongs to Shelli and Justin Lewis. Two gorgeous palm trees welcome guests to this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. Upon entering, guests will be immediately struck by the cool vibe, and not just from the winter decor. This house is exactly where you’d want to hang out.

Justin and Shelli were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways and reconnected later in life right before Shelli’s open-heart surgery. Their story was meant to be, and they’ve taken great care to make Justin’s family’s 1970s bungalow their own.

Your mind’s eye will allow you to picture the tasteful gray and neutral palette of the home without the holiday decorations, but on this tour, those are the star.

Shelli showcases her unique Santa collection, including a life-size one off the kitchen. In the window, visitors will see the classic leg lamp from “A Christmas Story,” which neighbors and Canyon Lakers alike drive by to view as part of their holiday traditions.

Visit the renovated bar area to view Justin’s massive stein and Budweiser memorabilia. A trip to their office showcases more limited edition collector’s pieces. Be sure to check out the European spa shower that plays music and Shelli’s beautifully arranged crosses on the master bedroom wall. The breathtaking views of the main lake make this cozy and tasteful home one you won’t want to leave.

Home three features the waterfront home of Amber and Brett Hoerner. The spacious three-bedroom home on the main lake features a saltwater pool with a slide. The home was built for entertaining and the Hoerner family does just that, fully embracing lake life.

Together Amber and Brett built the custom 1200 sq. ft. garage where they play games and vintage arcade machines. The iron railing staircase leads to a large, open movie theater with custom sound panels. The family enjoys the wine and coffee bar which leads out to the covered lanai deck.

The home features tumbled travertine tile throughout and a chef-style kitchen. Their daughter’s room features a castle bed and their son’s room features a pirate bed.

The bottom level of the home has a private entrance, a bathroom with a shower, a full kitchenette and Amber’s office for her thriving home-based business.

Be sure to drop a letter in the six-foot-tall Santa mailbox on your way out.

The kitchen is done in tones of Christmas green and showcases Sabrina’s Christmas village. At every turn, visitors will see carefully curated decor, from the cardinal bathroom to the buffalo check bedroom. Home Five

Home five features the Spanish-style, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home of Beverly and Harold Willard. The couple moved to Canyon Lake four-and-a-half years ago to be closer to family, leaving behind 23 years on a ranch property in northern Nevada. With them, they brought rustic charm to the elegant and sophisticated decor displayed in their lakefront home.

The walkway is lined with poinsettias and inside are festive touches, including a tree with 38 Wallace silver bells and an angel tree given to Beverly by her modeling colleagues.

Next to the fireplace is a tree with White House Historical Association presidential ornaments. There are numerous Santa figurines on display throughout their well-appointed home.

The guest room features a tree that went to Vietnam twice to spread cheer to Beverly’s deployed Navy brother.

Harold’s office showcases his successful career and photos of the couple with presidents and dignitaries. There are elephants sprinkled throughout, commemorating Beverly’s time as the Republican National Committeewoman of Nevada.

The back deck provides a view of their perfectly manicured terrace and a flourishing lime tree.

The spa and fire table are ideal spots to watch the kayakers pass by or to gaze at the unobstructed view of Lions Park. This home is sure to leave a fond and lasting impression.
