Community Patrol presents stats for October

The Community Patrol and Marine Patrol reports for the month of October were presented by the POA on Nov. 27. The Community Patrol report was prepared by Account Manager William Jordan. The Marine Patrol report was prepared by Marine Patrol Captain Don Motteler.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol answered 320 calls for service. Staff performed 4,146 foot patrols of amenities and parks. Forty-three suspicious persons/vehicles were reported with an average response time by Community Patrol of 8.4 minutes.

No speeding citations were issued by patrol in the month of October. The speed trailer issued 110 speeding citations. There were 287 parking citations issued.

Five golf cart, eight school bus and one miscellaneous traffic citations were issued.

Patrol issued seven verbal abuse to staff, 12 failure to comply, one solicitation and three noise citations.

Patrol receive 52 animal-related calls and issued two citations.

Five vehicle accidents and four vandalism incidents were reported.

Marine Patrol

Marine Patrol received 45 calls for service and performed 16 boat safety inspections, seven boat tows, one battery assist and 17 quagga inspections. Marine Patrol performed 12 fishing license checks and four citations. No citations were issued for POA expired/no registration or for state expired/no registration. No incidents were reported.

Marine Patrol boats operated on the main lake for 255 hours and the East Bay for 186 hours.

Gate Access

There were 17,356 guest passes issued at the main gate, 11,585 at the east gate and 8,223 at the north gate. There were 38,049 guest entries at the main gate, 23,077 at the east gate and 15,965 at the north gate. There were 82,987 RFID entries at the main gate, 28,024 at the east gate and 40,558 at the north gate.

Six citations were issued for gate running and 237 guest passes were confiscated.

About Community Patrol

The POA provides Community Patrol Services for the community. Its primary functions are to provide the community with gate access control, Rules and Regulations compliance and incident observation and reporting to the POA.

Community Patrol can assist with barking or loose dogs, illegal fishing, loud noise complaints, motorcycle riding in the community, speeding vehicles, parking violations, vehicle accidents and other non-emergency incidents.

The primary functions of Marine Patrol are to provide the community with services that include quagga and boat safety inspections, Rules and Regulations compliance and incident observation and reporting to the POA.

Police Services

Police services are provided by the City of Canyon Lake through a contract with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. For emergency situations and to report a crime, call 911 for help.
