Hendersons say good-bye to Canyon Lake

Vi and Joe Henderson, Canyon Lake residents since 1993, bid farewell to Canyon Lake to relocate to Escondido to be closer to their daughter.

The couple waited until Veterans Day to move so they could attend Joe’s favorite Canyon Lake event, the city’s Veterans Day Celebration.

Vi and Joe, who celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this year at the country club, were active in the community. They were members of the Twirlers Club, Travel Club and Yacht Club. Joe was an avid golfer and Vi was active in the Woman’s Club.

The couple could also be seen waving to spectators in the Fiesta Day Parade. They said they have many fond memories of their time spent in “A Bit of Paradise” and will miss being a part of the Canyon Lake community.
