North ski area to get upgrades, repaved parking lot

The POA is addressing the access issues at north ski area by replacing the steep and uneven paths with a new more level pathway from the parking lot.

The existing concrete walkways leading to the main dock and the steep concrete path from the street to the dock will be removed. The walkways will be replaced with a more even pathway from the parking lot. Stairs with a railing will replace the steep pathway. A 30-foot ramp with railings on both sides leading to the main dock will replace the existing aged wooden ramp. The picnic area will also be renovated with new tables, shade and a concrete surface.

The work is anticipated to take two weeks to complete. Following this project, the north ski area parking lot will be repaved as part of the Pavement Project.

On May 7, the POA Board of Directors approved $36,810 plus a five percent contingency for the improvements. The Canyon Lake Ski Club donated $5,000 toward the project. For more information about this and other projects, visit canyonlakepoa.com/projects.
