In Memoriam: Carol Sandberg-Deckert

Carol Sandberg-Deckert
May 31, 1938 – Oct. 20, 2019

Surrounded by family, Carol Sandberg-Deckert, 81, passed away on Sunday, Oct.  20, 2019, at Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, California. Carol was born on Tuesday, May 31, 1938, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to her late father Helge Rudolph Westerlind and late mother Edna Elizabeth Anderson.

At the age of 20, Carol married her first husband David Sandberg, who sadly passed away in 1994, but after years, she married her lovely, wonderful husband of 24 years, Ronald Deckert.

Carol was raised in Connecticut but during her elementary years, her parents relocated to Pasadena, California, where she graduated from Pasadena High School in 1956. She also attended Pasadena Community College where she spent a couple of years.

Carol was an amazing, wonderful woman who was caring, loving, strong and giving. She loved to play golf, she dedicated 10 years of her life building needlepoint glass case covers, she loved traveling and going on cruises and she was definitely a family-oriented woman.

Carol is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Doris Barker. She is survived by her  husband, children Scott Sandberg and Bryan Sandberg, her step-children Kathy Tucker and Scott Deckert and four amazing step-grandchildren: Brandon, Dylan, Brittney and Michael. Carol was a happy, adventurous woman who was full of life and happiness, she will be missed by many.
