White wows crowd with string of legendary hits

Jay White returned to Canyon Lake Saturday night to perform as recording superstar Neil Diamond. Sponsored by the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild, a capacity crowd of enthusiastic but well-behaved Canyon Lakers eagerly sang and danced to Neil Diamond chartbusters. White first appeared at the lodge 10 years ago and was thrilled to return.

For more than 30 years, White has taken on the persona of one of the world’s best-loved musical icons. White had the crowd singing along to such recognizable hits as “Sweet Caroline,” “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “America,” “Yesterday’s Songs” and “Song Sung Blue.”

This was the last concert of the 2019 season for the Fine Arts Guild, with each event becoming a sellout. The Fine Arts Guild also hosted two free concerts for the community this summer at the new amphitheater at Holiday Harbor Park.

The Fine Arts Guild recently announced it’s line up for 2020, which includes tributes to the Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Brooks & Dunn and Queen. The lineup also includes two free summer concerts at the amphitheater: Motown Night and a tribute to Journey.

Tickets are on sale now for all 2020 concerts and can be purchased at canyonlakeguild.com. General Admission tickets only can be purchased at the POA office. Guild membership, which entitles attendees to VIP tickets and special privileges, are already sold out for all of 2020.
