The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club recently wrapped up its 2018-2019 season and announced its new board for the 2019-2020 season. The new board members are Jeannette Williams, president; Carl Duplan, vice president; Kimberly Keigwin, treasurer; Steve Libring, secretary; Tish Penner, membership; and Tom Garcia, social director.

The Pickleball Club has become one of the fastest-growing clubs in Canyon Lake. With more than 140 members, the club is doing its part in the community by awarding scholarships to Canyon Lake students and donating to individuals and charities within the city.

Recently, the club awarded two student scholarships, donated to 4 Paws 4 Patriots, an organization that pairs service dogs with veterans, and Curt Mayer, a Canyon Lake resident who was struck down by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle to work.

Last year, the club donated to Helping Hands Group to assist in feeding local seniors and those in need and $1,110 plus 70 pounds of cat litter and more than 150 pounds of dog and cat food to Animal Friends of the Valleys.

The Pickleball Club welcomes new players. Social play for beginners and regular players is held Monday through Friday from 8 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. A Twilight Social Mixer for club members is held monthly on the third Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m.
