Honor a veteran with flag in Field of Honor

In preparation for Canyon Lake’s annual Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 11, approximately 200 honor flags will be placed at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Towne Center.

Residents are invited to honor a veteran with a flag sponsorship for $10. Each flag bears a yellow ribbon with the name of the honoree. Flags are available for purchase at Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center. The last day to purchase a flag is Nov. 1.

The Veterans Day Committee and community volunteers will be placing the flags in the park on Nov. 9  and removing them on Nov. 15. Those who wish to pick up their flags and take them home may do so between Nov. 12 and Nov. 15.

The flags were donated by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the sponsorships go to the Veterans Day Committee to help fund the annual Veterans Day Celebration.
