POA to host Halloween, Day of the Dead parties

The POA is hosting a spooktacular Halloween bash on Thursday, Oct. 31, at the lodge and a Dia de Los Muertos celebration on Friday, Nov. 1, at the country club.

The Halloween party at the lodge features costume contests with prizes, happy hour specials all night long in the bar, chilling drink specials and live entertainment featuring local entertainer DJ Aprile DeAnne. The festivities will take place in the bar from 6 to 10 p.m. Dinner will be served in the restaurant. The celebration continues on Friday evening with a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party at the country club from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be costume contests, live music featuring the Joe Ferrero Band, a photo booth backdrop and drink specials that include $5 Mexican candy shots, prickly pear margaritas and Modelo bottles. Costumes are encouraged at both events; however, costume weapons and props that can be used as a weapon will not be permitted at either venue.
